Very Berry Smoothie
Smoothies are a gentle way to get in those vital nutrients, particularly for those with digestive issues. They are also wonderfully quick when on the go and a better morning ‘grab’ than many sugar laden convenience foods. The taste is also sensational! Especially when packed with tasty berries, like this one. For this smoothie you will need:
4 or 5 large blackberries
a good handful of raspberries
200ml of plant milk e.g. almond
a handful of oats ( I use gluten-free organic porridge oats)
6 or 7 cashew nuts
1 tsp cacao powder
1 tsp cacao nibs
1 tsp maple syrup (optional as the berries may be sweet enough!)
You can use any berries/ mix of berries that you like here! I also love strawberries in this smoothie. They taste great with the cacao powder and cacao nibs especially. Any excuse for some chocolate flavour in the morning, let’s face it!
