That’s my jam! This recipe does not require scalding glass jars or careful temperature measurements. As delicious as traditional jams are, and it’s a big tradition in a lot of families including my own, this quick easy ‘cheat’ jam is also gorgeous! I use blueberries or blackberries and it’s ready in minutes, yum!
Veggie Maki Sushi with Nori Seaweed is a wonderful meal to share; both in the making of it and in the eating! There is no end to the ‘fixings’ you can roll up. Favourites of FeelWell Nutrition include avocado and cucumber. Serve with tamari/ soya sauce, ginger, wasabi and some green tea to really get the Japanese experience!
Kelp Seaweed is wonderful in this recipe! This is a quick and easy dish to prepare, once you have the sushi rice made, the rest is just assembly. Also, consider the nutrients you are packing in here e.g. iodine, zinc, magnesium and Omega 3 rich. Your thyroid, for one, will thank you for it!
Apple and Pear Crumble is naturally gluten free, using Kavanagh’s Gluten Free Organic Porridge Oats. Delicious with a dollop of coconut or live natural yoghurt and a sprinkle of cocoa powder!
Consider using a small amount of stewed apple daily, as a tasty prebiotic e.g. a tablespoon with muesli, porridge, for breakfast or as a snack with nuts, seeds, berries and live yogurt (that has the added benefit of providing more beneficial bacteria for the gut) or as a dessert addition… the options are endless, though I like it straight off the spoon!
Baked apples are delicious with a dollop of live yoghurt, coconut yoghurt, a sprinkle of cocoa powder and/or more cinnamon.
Smoothies are a gentle way to get in those vital nutrients, particularly for those with digestive issues. They are also wonderfully quick when on the go and a better morning ‘grab’ than many sugar laden convenience foods. The taste is also sensational! Especially when packed with tasty berries, like this one.
